TiC Festival Poster (Layer A - Ideation and Development Series)

TiC Festival Poster (Layer A - Ideation and Development Series)

This asynchronous activity encourages students to use graphic design to outline their Texts in Conversation assignment (T.i.C.). By arranging sources according to theme and sequence, students can envision how their sources work “in concert” with each other.

Activity title: The T.i.C. Festival Poster

Author: Harriett Jernigan

Course: PWR 1

Activity length and schedule: This activity works best once students have finalized their sources for the T.i.C. assignment, before the rough draft of the T.i.C., and typically takes three-four days (from date of assignment to due date).

Activity goals:

  • Conceptualize arrangement of sources
  • Explain rationale for arrangement of sources
  • Artistic innovation
  • Serendipitous discovery

Activity details: See additional instructions (Canvas log-in required)

Additional notes:

  • This activity follows the T.i.C. Playlist activity well.
  • Instructors can ask students to provide a reflection on how they designed their posters if desired.
