This asynchronous workshop contains a set of activities designed to help students synthesize the conversation between the sources they are examining in their Texts in Conversation essay. It invites them to move through a variety of different activities, including a map, a dinner table conversation scenario, and a mad-lib style exercise.
Activity title: Synthesis Brainstorm
Author: Meg Formato and Jennifer Stonaker
Course: PWR 1
Activity schedule: Week 5
Activity goals: To provide students with some frameworks for thinking about the "Synthesis" section of the TiC
This workshop offers several options to help students engage with the research conversation as they are revising their TIC essays. See the student-facing handout here
Additional notes: Thanks to Clara Lewis for the great “dinner table conversation” option!
